A fulfilment centre is a warehouse optimised for business-to-consumer (B2C) operations. Unlike a traditional warehouse focused on bulk storage and B2B distribution, a fulfilment centre processes high volumes of small, individual orders. Operations include receiving inventory from suppliers, storing it, picking individual items per customer order, packing them with appropriate packaging and inserts, and handing them off to last-mile delivery carriers.
